Life Esidimeni arbitration hearings - The numbers

The arbitration hearing into the Life Esidimeni tragedy is being finalised with recommendations by former Deputy Chief Justice Dikgang Moseneke on Monday.

Here is a snapshot of the evidence presented to him:

- 22 family members of deceased persons testified.

- 9 surviving victims’ families testified.

- 59 affidavits given by Section 27.

- 42 affidavits presented by Legal Aid South Africa‚ representing survivors.

- There are 173 exhibits.

- The arbitration hearing record runs to 3‚000 pages.
