Social development MEC Nancy Sihlwayi yesterday apologised in person to traumatised mother Phumza Kadeni for the treatment she endured at the hands of NGO Christelike Maatskaplike Raad (CMR) social workers.
Sihlwayi led a delegation to Kadeni’s Mzamomhle shack yesterday to show support to the mother, who has been locked in a bitter custody battle with Komga magistrate Michelle Pillay over Kadeni’s eight-month-old baby.
Sihlwayi’s visit came a day before the East London Children’s Court decides the infant’s future.
