The man who shot and killed his wife near Voorpos Primary School is a constable from the East London cluster.
Police spokesman captain Nkosikho Mzuku said the policeman was on duty when heallegedly shot his wife.
He said the Independent Police Investigative Directorate was investigating a case ofmurder.
"It is alleged that an on-duty police constable from East London Cluster shot and killed his wife on the school premises near the entrance gate to the school," he said.
He said the police member was in custody.
"The circumstances surrounding the incident are unclear at the moment. Investigation continues," he said.
