Six people were killed and 12 left injured after a collision involving a bakkie and taxi on the R346 between Mount Coke and East London on Tuesday morning.
Eastern Cape transport spokesperson Unathi Bhinqose said one male and six females died in the accident.
He said 12 people have been transported to local hospitals in East London.
