Senior Bhisho official dies from Covid-19 complications

A senior official at the Eastern Cape social development department died on Tuesday morning from Covid-19 complications.

The official, who cannot not be named until all his relatives have been informed of his death, died at a Port Elizabeth hospital.

He had been admitted on Monday after he experienced breathing problems.

This was confirmed to DispatchLIVE by an emotional social development MEC Siphokazi Mani-Lusithi on Tuesday morning.

The MEC said her department has been left in deep shock by the passing of the official whom she described as a “very faithful person who was too much dedicated to his work”.
