Co-operative governance and traditional affairs minister Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma has paid tribute to the late Ingquza Hill mayor Bambezakhe Goya.

Goya, who was admitted to Margate Hospital on Sunday, died after a short illness on Monday.

On Wednesday, Dlamini Zuma extended her heartfelt condolences to the Goya family and the people of Ingquza Hill municipality.

“The untimely passing of Goya has robbed the family and the people of Ingquza Hill as well as the local government fraternity,” she said in a statement.

“His dedicated service to the people since 2006 is notable and he will be remembered for both his diligence as well as sense of humour.”
