Entries are open for the SPAR Daily Dispatch Virtual Fun Run for Disability!
For the first time, the event will be virtual, which means you choose the route, distance, and start time for your run.
This virtual run will be done in aid of Canaan Care Centre, an organisation focussed on supporting individuals with disabilities. We hope that this run will be a reminder about being grateful for all we can do and being inspired by those with disabilities while running in support of them.
The entry fee is R60, for adults or children. T-shirts will go to the first 1500 entrants.
Apart from making a difference, you also stand to win big simply by entering!

Delivery
Entrants based in East London who choose the courier option will pay a R20 courier fee. Entrants based in Mthatha will pay a R40 courier fee. Entrants based in cities outside East London and Mthatha will pay the R81 courier fee.
NB: The courier option is only available to entrants who entered and paid online for their entry by Friday, 12 November 2021, midnight.
Collection
Entrants based in East London can choose to collect their t-shirt from the Guild Theatre, Union Ave, Selborne, East London from the 22-26 November 2021 from 09h00-16h00, or on Saturday, 27 November 2021 from the Daily Dispatch office at the Corner of Quenera Drive and St Helena Road, Beacon Bay, East London from 09h00-16h00. If choosing the collection option, entrants will receive an SMS or email by latest Thursday, 18 November with the day on which to collect their t-shirt.

SHARE FUN RUN PHOTOS/VIDEOS COMPETITION
Share your fun run photos/videos with Daily Dispatch on the day of the event, on 28 November 2021, & you could win 1 of 10 SPAR vouchers worth R500 each!
How to enter?
- The top 20 photos/videos will be selected and entered in a lucky draw. The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
- We’re looking for photos that capture the essence of the event, representing fun, family, and community.
- Winners will be announced from 29 November 2021 to 5 December 2021 on the event Facebook page, @dispatchfunrun, and winners will also be contacted on their contact numbers to arrange collection.
Apart from entering the draw, snippets from your videos could feature in the 2021/2022 promotional video for the event, or your photos could be included in the double spread to be published in the Daily Dispatch on Friday, 3 December 2021.

HOW TO ENTER A GROUP
STEP 1
Inform your colleagues about the SPAR Daily Dispatch Virtual Fun Run for Disability, and that your company would like to enter a team. Send them the attached graphic for more information about the event.
If they are interested, they must register themselves on the Zsports website on the following link: https://www.zsports.co.za/sddfrd/login
If they are not registered yet on the Zsports site, they will click NEW USER
If they are registered on the Zsports website, they will simply complete their details under LOGIN.
You can give your staff members a due date by which to register themselves on the ZSports website.
STEP 2
Once all your staff have registered, make sure you have the ID numbers handy of all the staff members who are interested in entering.
You will then create your own profile and then LINK your staff’s profile to your own, using your staff’s ID numbers.
STEP 3
You will link all your staff members to your profile by searching their ID number and clicking ADD.
STEP 4
Once all your staff members have been linked to your profile, you will go to the ENTER NOW page, and select Group entry if you are entering 10 people or more. You will select Individual Entry if you are entering less than 10 people.
Simply click all your staff members’ names and add them all to the Group Entry.
Once everyone is added, click CHECK OUT
Select the Collection or Delivery Option for your t-shirts.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
- The SPAR Daily Dispatch Virtual Fun Run for Disability is open to everyone to participate. Choose your route, your distance and start time. The event is scheduled for Sunday, 28 November 2021, and entrants can choose to run anytime between 06h00-14h00.
- All entrants must enter and register for the event.
- Proceeds from the event will be donated to Canaan Care Centre, a non-profit organisation based in East London, Eastern Cape, designed to support children from birth to 16 years old with severe physical disabilities and profound learning disabilities.
- Entrants have the option to add an additional donation to the beneficiary when entering online.
- Online entries close at midnight on Monday, 22 November 2021. Physical entries are unavailable.
- T-shirts will be given to the first 1500 entrants, subject to t-shirt size availability.
- Entrants cannot be guaranteed that they will receive their preferred T-shirt size.
- Entrants can choose to have their t-shirts couriered to them for an additional charge. Alternatively, entrants based in East London can choose to collect their t-shirt from the Guild Theatre, Union Ave, Selborne, East London from the 22-26 November 2021 from 09h00-16h00, or on Saturday, 27 November 2021 from the Daily Dispatch office at the Corner of Quenera Drive and St Helena Road, Beacon Bay, East London from 09h00-16h00. If choosing the collection option, entrants will receive an SMS or email by latest Thursday, 18 November with the day on which to collect their t-shirt.
- Entrants based in East London who choose the courier option will pay a R20 courier fee. Entrants based in Mthatha will pay a R40 courier fee. Entrants based in cities outside East London and Mthatha will pay the R81 courier fee.
- Select the Group entry option when entering 10 people or more.
- Those who select the Group entry option will pay only one courier fee of R20 to a single address in East London, or R40 to a single address in Mthatha. Group Entries to a single delivery address outside East London or Mthatha, the courier fee of R81 will apply.
- Group entries close on Friday, 12 November 2021, midnight.
- The courier option is only available to entrants who entered and paid online for their entry by Friday, 12 November 2021, midnight. All late entrants, who entered from Saturday, 13 November 2021, must collect their t-shirts from the Guild Theatre on Friday, 26 November 2021 between 09h00 and 16h00, or from Daily Dispatch on Saturday, 27 November 2021 from 09h00-16h00.
- T-shirts will be awarded to the first 1 500 paid entrants. T-shirts will be couriered from Monday, 15 November 2021 to entrants who selected the courier option. T-shirts should be received by all entrants by latest Thursday, 25 November 2021.
- Should the Government regulation level change due to Covid-19 restrictions, the collection option from the Guild Theatre will be reviewed and relevant communication will be sent to all entrants who chose the collection option.
- All entrants take personal responsibility for complying with the Covid-19 Regulations and relevant lockdown rules.
- Entrants must accept and adhere to safety instructions given by the traffic officials in their suburbs, event organisers or their representatives.
- Please do not litter. If dust bins are unavailable on the route you have selected, please keep your refuse until you arrive at home or to a venue with a refuse facility.
- Should the event be cancelled due to circumstances beyond the organisers or sponsors control, NO REFUND of the entry fee will be issued.
- Lucky draw prizes will be awarded at the discretion of Daily Dispatch. Winners will be announced from 29 November 2021 to 5 December 2021 on the event Facebook page, @dispatchfunrun, and winners will also be contacted on their contact numbers to arrange collection.

- Credit and select debit cards will be accepted for online entries.
- The courier service is limited to South Africa.

Waiver/Disclaimer
All information provided by entrants is deemed to be true and correct. Entrants confirm that they are fit and healthy enough to complete the distance they have selected, in their own time and on a route of their choosing. They confirm that they understand that there may be risks related to running on public roads and pavements. The organisers, sponsors and other stakeholders will not be held liable for any injuries or other claims.
Entrants will abide by the rules and conditions of the event and will obey instructions from traffic officials, the South African Police Services or Metro police. Entrants will also observe the relevant Covid-19 protocols.
All entrants grant permission in terms of section 51 of the electronics communication transactions act 25 of 2002 for the free use of images of them participating in the event by means of photographs, video tapes, broadcasts and telecasts. All personal information will remain confidential in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (or POPI Act).
If the participant is a minor, (younger than 18), he or she may not participate unless his or her parent(s) or legal guardian(s) have agreed to be bound by these terms.

Disputes
Any dispute by the parties involved in the event should be resolved through negotiation wherever possible. Notice of dispute should be given in writing. The objective is to settle the dispute within 10 (ten) business days from date of receipt of the notification.
If the dispute is not resolved through negotiation, it can be referred by either or both parties to the Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa (“AFSA”) for administered mediation, upon the terms set by the AFSA Secretariat.
Neither party may withdraw from this clause relating to dispute resolution. This does not, however, restrict the right of the parties to this agreement to approach the competent court for relief in the case where urgent relief is required.
Jurisdiction
Any dispute is to be settled in accordance with the legal structure of the Republic of South Africa.
POPI COMPLIANCE:
- Daily Dispatch, based at the Corner of Quenera Drive and St Helena Road, Beacon Bay, East London, 5205, will require certain personal information to process your entry into the SPAR Daily Dispatch Virtual Fun Run for Disability. The information will only be used for the purpose of t-shirt delivery/collection, to communicate event-relevant information and for the promotion of future Fun Runs hosted by Daily Dispatch.
- It will only be shared with third parties for purposes directly related to the SPAR Daily Dispatch Virtual Fun Run for Disability, such as courier delivery.
- By providing this information you certify that you have provided it to Daily Dispatch voluntarily.
- Failure to share the information means that your entry will not be processed for the SPAR Daily Dispatch Virtual Fun Run for Disability.
- Participants may access their personal particulars which are in the possession of the organisers to update it if necessary.
- Any complaints about the handling of your information should be lodged with the office of the Information Regulator, at IR@justice.gov.za.
