The Eastern Cape is going all out for a top four spot at the 2015 edition of the annual SA School Sport championships in Tshwane starting today until next Wednesday. This is according to team Eastern Cape Chef de Mission Brian Hendrikse, who added that they were out to improve on their fourth finish achieved in 2014 in the same Tshwane.

Hendrikse is confident they would be a force to be reckoned with despite the team having been reduced by 300 members in comparison to last year’s team.

This time round, the province will be represented by a 914-member strong contingent which includes more than 53 officials of all sorts; the rest being athletes from 18 sport codes.

According to the head of the group, Hendrikse, the Eastern Cape should dominate in swimming, volleyball, rugby, hockey, indigenous games and all codes for pupils with special needs.
