The Czech Republic’s Lucie Zelenkova, Great Britain’s Susie Cheetham, Poland’s Maria Csesnik and Watkinson followed Swallow out the water.

On the cycle Cheetham and Watkinson went around the turn in second and third while Stienen made her move up the pack and was lurking in fourth, with her then powering into second place, ahead of Watkinson as they started the run, with the places then staying the same on the run.

In all it was an enjoyable day for all, with blustery and overcast conditions early in the morning and a short spell of rain as the athletes started the bike ride, but by the time the run had started the sun was out and stayed out for the remainder of the race.
