Boxing gods have smiled on Xolisani “Nomeva “ Ndongeni just when he thought he was jinxed.

Pelullo was understandably thrilled to tie down the charismatic and unbeaten 26-year pugilist.

“"We are excited to get Xolisani in a major fight, “ he said.

Pelullo will steer Ndongeni to major fights together with Golden Gloves Promotions boss Rodney Berman who still retains a stake in the flamboyant “ Nomeva.”

Berman unselfishly sought the assistance of a US associate in order to help Ndongeni.

“Rodney always has the best fighters in South Africa and we feel we have a world champion in Xolisani. We look forward to helping him get major opportunities that he deserves,” continued Pelullo.

Berman revealed that Ndongeni would be unleashed to the partisan US audience in October.

“We are looking to feature him in a major televised show in the US most likely on October 14,” Berman said.

Ndongeni’s rags to riches story has captured the attention of sports fanatics especially after the Daily Dispatch ran a piece about him learning to fight while scavenging refuse at the Amalinda dumpsite as a youngster.

The story sparked an international television network to seek to do a documentary on him.

Berman said Ndongeni’s hunger to succeed and his impoverished background makes him a sought after commodity.

“I'm hoping this venture into the US is the springboard to a great international career in one of the most dynamic weight divisions, “ he said.

Ndongeni who holds the IBO lightweight crown is on the verge of a major break through as he is rated second for the prestigious WBA crown held by Englishman Anthony Crolla.

He is is hoping to take his marketability to the US where lucrative television deals with networks are beckoning.
