Nominate your hero and you could win a share of R16,000 in KFC vouchers!

The Competition

Daily Dispatch and KFC have joined forces in search of the Eastern Cape’s Local Heroes. We’re asking our community, our readers and customers to help us find the ordinary people in our communities who are making an extraordinary difference with little or no resources at their disposal. Together, we’re looking for the real heroes. Help us identify them and you could win!

Not only do you stand a chance to win R16,000 in KFC vouchers when you by your Chicken Lunch Box Meal at anyone of the 27 participating KFC stores in the Eastern Cape, but your hero also stands a chance to be honoured as one of the 2020 Local Heroes finalists. The competition runs from Friday August 2 until Thursday September 19 2019. Read competition details below for more information.

How do I enter?

1. Order the Chicken Lunch Box Meal valued at R49.90. The price includes a copy of the Daily Dispatch valued at R6.90.
2. Complete the entry form found inside the Daily Dispatch.
3. Attach your slip from the purchase of the Chicken Lunch Box to the entry form.
4. Post your entry form with your slip inside the entry box found inside the participating KFC store.
5. One entry will be drawn at each of the 27 participating KFC stores on Friday September 27 2019.

What do I win?

1. The winning entrant at each of the 27 participating stores will receive a R100 KFC voucher and the hero will receive a R500 KFC voucher.
2. In addition to the KFC vouchers, the Daily Dispatch editorial team will assess the 27 heroes and consider featuring them in the Daily Dispatch as one of the 2020 Local Heroes nominations whereby articles will be written and published in the Daily Dispatch about their contribution to their community. If articles are published on the heroes, they will progress to the final stage of the initiative, where they will be considered to be amongst the top 12 Local Heroes finalists for 2020.

How will I know if I am a winner?

1. You will be contacted on Friday September 27 2019 by the KFC store representative where you entered. You and your hero will be called to collect your vouchers.
2. Please make arrangement to collect the vouchers with your hero so that a photo can be taken of you and your hero together with the KFC store manager.
3. The names of all the winners will be published in Daily Dispatch on Monday October 7 2019.

Terms and Conditions

1. Daily Dispatch and KFC employees, sponsors, agents and their immediate families may NOT enter.
2. Local Heroes sponsors and their immediate families may NOT enter.
3. Winners agree to be photographed for the purpose of publicity.
4. The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
5. Only original copies of the entry form that appear in the daily and weekend editions of the Daily Dispatch will be accepted.
6. Only entries that have proof of purchase of a KFC Heroes’ Hero meal attached to their entry form will be accepted as a valid entry.
7. Entries will only be accepted at the 27 participating KFC stores where an entry box is available.
8. The competition runs from Friday, 2 August 2019 until Thursday, 19 September 2019.
9. You may enter as many times as you wish to increase your chances of winning.
10. The draw will take place on Friday, 27 September 2019. Regrettably, NO late entries will be accepted.
