The grandson of Nelson Mandela‚ who is charged with raping a teenage girl‚ may be in trouble for allegedly breaking the conditions of his bail.

But his case was postponed on Friday at the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court because the magistrate was not available.

A packed courtroom heard that the 24-year-old man will have to return on Monday.

The young man‚ who may under law not be identified until he has pleaded because of the sexual nature of the charges‚ was released on bail of R7000 on August 25.

He faces charges of rape‚ attempted rape and sexual assault after he allegedly assaulted a 15-year-old girl in an alley outside a restaurant in Greenside‚ Johannesburg‚ on August 7.

In his bail application‚ he admitted that he had sex with the girl but said it was consensual. He also said he believed she was older than 16.

Prosecutor Cosmos Mbhele said on Friday that the state was looking to have the man’s bail revoked after he allegedly‚ according to media reports‚ violated his bail conditions by contacting the complainant on a social media platform.
