Bizarre last minute ‘reprieve’

Just less than 24 hours before AbaThembu King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo had to hand himself over to prison, he delivered a bizarre document to the Mthatha High Court.

The document, stamped by the “Supreme Court of South Africa” set aside all convictions against Dalindyebo.

The state, three judges the Supreme Court of Appeal, and the national director of public prosecutions were cited as defendants in the matter.

The decree is is signed by a “Judge Khoza, His Excellency Majesty King, Stephen Khoza of Nguni Royal Family from the United Kingdom of Union of South Africa, the Common Wealth Realms of the Republic of South Africa.

In simpler terms it states that all judgments against Dalindyebo are suspended for an “indefinite period as the supreme court of South Africa deems fit…”

A stamp on the document reads: “Parliament of State and Government” and at the bottom: “By the Lord Camblain of the Afro-Ngunis Royal Palace, The convener of Parliament.”

A quick Google search for the name Stephen Khoza reveals an individual who lives in a fictitious world of self absorption.

King Dalindyebo is no stranger to fiction himself as in 2009 he expressed a plan to secede from South Africa.

His plan was to establish the state of Thembuland to include the Eastern, Western and Northern Capes, KwaZulu- Natal, Gauteng and Free State.

The state was to claim R80-billion from the SA government for the humiliation caused by King Dalindyebo’s trial.

The plan fell apart after the King discovered that his lawyer, Votani Majola, who gave himself the title 'Emperor Thembu II', wanted to be king of the State of Thembuland. The currency had not been determined at the time.
