Makhenkesi Arnold Stofile’s memorial will be hosted today by the Eastern Cape government, in partnership with the University of Fort Hare.
Stofile, a former Eastern Cape Premier, chancellor of Fort Hare, and reverend, will be remembered at a service in the Abbotsford Christian Centre in East London at 10am.
Stofile was born on December 27 1944 and died on August 15 this year, following an illness.
Among those expected to attend include the House of Traditional Leaders head, Chief Ngangomhlaba Matanzima, Finance Deputy Minister Mcebisi Jonas, Sascoc president Gideon Sam, Eastern Cape Legislature speaker Noxolo Kiviet and Premier Phumulo Masualle.
Provincial government spokesman Sizwe Kupelo said a condolences book will be available at the Union Buildings, the Eastern Cape’s Office of The Premier, University of Fort Hare and his family home.
