Police arrest woman in connection with the murder of social development head Sakhekile Ndudula

Eastern Cape police have arrested a 44-year-old woman in connection with the murder of department of social development chief of staff Sakhekile Ndudula.

The arrest comes a week after the deceased was buried in his Tsomo home.

Police spokeswoman Brigadier Marinda Mills said the woman was arrested in Tsomo yesterday and was taken into custody.

"She is being held in police custody in East London and she will appear in the East London Magistrate's Court on Monday to face a charge of murder," Mills said.

Mills said it was too early in the investigation to reveal all the details.

"A formal police statement will be released in due course but for now I can confirm that an arrest has been made regarding the incident," said Mills.

It was the morning of September 14 when Ndudula sustained eight gunshots to his upper body while he was preparing to leave his Cambridge home for work.

Ndudula worked for MEC Nancy Sihlwayi.
