More Extended Public Works Programme (EPWP) workers have claimed they have been paying R100 in monthly kickbacks to Buffalo City Metro ANC councillor Nokulunga Matiwane.
Eight EPWP workers claimed they were among 100 people paying Matiwane R100 every month from their meagre R600 wages – which means, if true, the Ward 13 councillor was being paid R10000-a-month from the alleged kickbacks.
The eight workers made the claims to the Daily Dispatch after Nokulunga and her husband, Mthuthuzeli Matiwane, were arrested for conspiracy to murder and double murder last month, respectively.
