Mabuyane leads protest against rhino poaching

About 300 people have gathered in Makhanda for a protest against rhino poaching led by Finance MEC Oscar Mabuyane on Monday morning.
Dozens of employees from the SanParks, Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency (ECPTA) as well as private rangers joined citizens in the march.
Mabuyane led the march on the Grahamstown High Court where the trial of three men facing 50 charges in relation to 13 rhino poaching incidents resumes.
Mabuyane on Monday declared war on poachers and said the national government would be bolstering the province’s ability to fight poaching “on land, in our oceans and from the air”.
According to Mabuyane, cabinet would be directing resources to rhino poaching hotspots in the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal to combat the scourge...
