Two EC men in court over firearms possession
Two Willowvale men are due in court on Tuesday on charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
According to Butterworth police spokesman captain Jackson Manatha, a 28-year-old man was arrested on the Willowvale main street at the weekend for possession of an unlicensed pistol with five rounds of ammunition.
"Police members were on patrol when they came across the suspect. They searched him and found the firearm with rounds of ammunition.”
In a separate incident, a 47-year-old man was arrested at the Willowvale informal township on Monday for possession of an unlicensed firearm with no rounds of ammunition.
"The firearms will be sent for ballistic tests to establish if they were not used in the commission of crimes around Willowvale and the surrounding areas,” Manatha said...
