Jeffrey's Bay police drug bust nets tik valued at R327,000

Jeffrey’s Bay police arrested four suspects for the possession of tik drugs valued at R327,000 yesterday.
The police also seized the vehicle the suspects were using to transport the illicit drugs in Jeffrey’s Bay.
The arrest came after the crime prevention unit in Jeffrey’s Bay received information about a blue vehicle that had entered the town through St Francis Street and was travelling around transporting the drugs.
Members of the crime prevention unit then followed up on the tip-off using an unmarked vehicle. In the vehicle, police seized 1.09 kilograms of tik and also impounded the car.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the car was not roadworthy. The four suspects, aged between 29 and 36, are due to appear in court soon on charges of drug possession.
Humansdorp Cluster Commander, Brigadier John Lebok said: “It is pleasing to see that some residents are working with the police to fight the proliferation of illicit drugs."..
