Butterworth man arrested for allegedly raping his girlfriend

A 32-year-old man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly raping his girlfriend, 21, at Cuba Squatter Camp in Butterworth.
The alleged rape took place on Wednesday afternoon.
Police spokesman Captain Jackson Manatha said it was alleged that the man visited the victim on the date in question and forced himself on her.
He said a case of rape was opened at Msobomvu police station on Wednesday. “The suspect was traced and arrested on Thursday at Cuba Squatter Camp, Butterworth. He will appear before the Butterworth Magistrate’s Court on a charge of rape on Monday, 21 January.”..
