Use new BCM bank account to make payments
081167016. This is the new Standard Bank account number for Buffalo City Metro.
Anyone wanting to make a payment to BCM should use this account number immediately.
The metro appealed to all payers to make sure they switch their payment details from the old Absa account to the new Standard Bank account.
The switch follows Standard Bank winning a big BCM banking tender.
For the past five years, BCM had been banking with Absa.

Residents paying their accounts by a stop order deducted by their employers; and
Residents who pay their accounts through the internet.
Ngwenya said no action was required from residents who had a debit order as the electronic encrypted files containing their information as received from their bankers will be uploaded by the municipality onto the new Standard Bank account.
South African Municipal Workers Union (Samwu) BCM leader Zolani Ndlela said the workers welcomed the move.
East London ratepayers association secretary Christo Theart said they also welcomed the move and foresaw no problem with it.
Standard Bank provincial marketing co-ordinator Monique Fouche said they had been appointed from January to December 31 2023.
She said the bank would “enhance BCM’s overall banking experience by delivering transactional efficiency, excellent customer service, innovative products, competitive pricing and progressive online solutions.
He said they met all the tender requirements, including pricing, implementation plan and relationship team experience.
“We have a network of branch centres and ATMs located in the heart of BCM.
“We also have digital platforms, such as internet banking, a banking app, and cellphone banking that consumers can use to pay municipal accounts,” Fouche added...
