BREAKING | East London policeman killed on duty
A patrol policeman is believed to have been stabbed to death in East London.
Details were sketchy, but 20 police vehicles and a crowd of over 100 onlookers had converged on the scene in at the Cambridge township soon after 2pm on Friday.
A chopper was also in the air.
Dispatch was told at the scene that there had been a neighbourhood quarrel in which a dog was stabbed.
Police had apparently arrived on the scene and a suspect stabbed the officer who is said to have died.
Police responded and a suspect was then shot by police and was removed to hospital, Dispatch was told on the ground.
