Following increased incidences of violence at schools, the Association for Alcohol Responsibility and Education (aware.org), together with provincial education department and Eastern Cape Liquor Board, on Thursday launched the ‘It Starts Today’ intervention to stem the tide of underage drinking in the Eastern Cape, especially at schools.

This programme, launched at Steve Biko Centre in Ginsberg outside King Williams Town, aims to change harmful attitudes and practices regarding alcohol among learners, with Eastern Cape being the third province to pilot such a programme.
