Eastern Cape coronavirus cases up to 17

Seventeen people have tested positive for the coronavirus in the Eastern Cape. No deaths have been recorded in the province.

This was announced by the health ministry on Thursday night.

DispatchLIVE was unable to establish in which areas these cases are at the time of publication.

Of the 47,965 tests that have been conducted in the country, 1,462 people have tested positive for the virus.

Worldwide, cases passed the 1-million mark on Thursday as the United states edged toward 250-thousand cases with Italy and Spain each having exceeded 100-thousand confirmed cases.
