The home of senior ANC Amathole district municipality councillor and mayoral committee member Nanziwe Rulashe, who made headlines last week when a video emerged of her being dragged through her office floor, was shot at in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A distraught and shaken Rulashe confirmed to Dispatch that her East London home was attacked by gunmen who jumped over her electric fence and went to the back of the yard, straight to her bedroom.

The Dispatch team has seen photos of the sliding door of the bedroom shattered with bullet holes.

Rulashe, who, fortunately, was not home at the time, said her bed was riddled with bullets.

Some of her relatives were home sleeping in other rooms and were not harmed.

On Sunday morning, police were at Rulashe's home combing through the scene.

This is a developing story.
