Power back on in Komani

After two days of total darkness, power was finally restored in Komani on Thursday morning.
The power went off in Komani at 8.30am on Tuesday after two transformers from Queendustria and Ebden Street substation blew due to overloading.
Ezibeleni and Komani were among the areas that were affected by the problem.
Enoch Mgijima municipality appointed a contractor to fix the problem on Tuesday and power was restored at both Ezibeleni and Laurie Dashwood Park.
On Wednesday, more than 38 technicians were repairing the two damaged substations.
Border-Kei Chamber of Business chairman Adre Bartis said power was restored in the entire Komani at 1am today.  Bartis said the contractor started switching on the areas at 9pm and some were switched on later on.
“I want to thank all those who assisted in helping the contractor restore electricity. I want to thank the contractor, the municipality’s technical services department and their administration staff,” she said.
