East London security guard robbed of rifle

East London police are searching for man who made off with a rifle he robbed from a security guard at the Amalinda Post Office on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Cambridge police spokesperson Captain Mluleki Mbi, the 20-year-old man had entered the post office under the pretence of being a customer.
“It is alleged that a male in his mid-20s entered the facility and joined the queue pretending to be a customer then turned around and pointed a pistol at the security guard, demanding his rifle. The guard obliged.”
Mbi said the suspect fled on foot. “Members of K9 unit immediately searched the surrounding area and spotted a fleeing suspect who threw his pistol on the ground and disappeared into the bushes," he said, adding that members of the public are urged to help the police in apprehending this dangerous criminal by contacting the Cambridge Police Station if they have any information leading to his whereabouts...
