Lekota blasts ANC at COPE manifesto launch

COPE leader Mosiuoa Lekota says the ANC-led government has tarnished the democracy former President Nelson Mandela fought for.
In an interview with DispatchLIVE following the party's manifesto launch at the Orient Theatre in East London on Saturday, Lekota said he was in the province to restore the principles that Mandela stood for.
"The ANC betrayed the message President Nelson Mandela brought to the people of South Africa. We felt it was important to come to the Eastern Cape, where the likes of Nelson Mandela and Walter Sisulu come from to revive the road they had indicated to us", Lekota said.
Hundreds of supporters filled the venue to listen to Lekota deliver the manifesto. Lekota said SA was in need of a fresh start, which he said the current government had failed to provide.
