Chippa United coach Clinton Larsen plans to light up Mdantsane when the team plays SuperSport United in an Absa Premiership fixture at Sisa Dukashe Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
It’s been a while since the Chilli Boys made a appearance at Sisa Dukashe stadium, with their last match dating back to January 4 when they lost 1-0 to Bloemfontein Celtic.
The trip to Buffalo City Municipality will be Larsen’s first visit there in Chippa colours and one which the coach says he is looking forward to.
“Sunday’s game is very important for us because it’s been a while now since the team played in East London and everyone is looking forward to seeing the team perform,” said Larsen.
“We are also looking forward to going there to try and give our best and get the results for them.
“It’s a game where the players, technical team and myself are looking forward to put smiles on their faces.
“We have done it in PE, we would like to do it in East London now.”
After struggling to capture good results after 11 attempts, the Chilli Boys have now managed to stay unbeaten in six matches, since former Golden Arrows mentor took over two months ago.
Chippa will be without inspirational midfielder Andile Mbenyane who is still serving a ban after receiving a straight red card in the Nedbank Cup fixture against National First Division side Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.
However, Larsen is happy to welcome back Mark Mayambela, who returns from suspension.
“Daine Klate has a little bit of a knock so he won’t be available for this game but everyone else is available now.
“Even Rhulani Manzini, who had missed two matches, is back from injury.
“At this point we are at full strength just minus Andile,” said Larsen.
“Preparations are normal, every game we prepare the same way. With the same professionalism, intensity and the seriousness in our approach.
“We have our many targets we want to achieve. In the process it will allow us to get out of the bottom four.”
Chippa are 14th on the log with 20 points with 21 games, only a point separates them from 15th placed Free State Stars.
