Crowds from across SA enjoy City’s ‘welcome home’ festival

Thousands of people from across the country flocked to Buffalo Park Cricket Stadium yesterday to watch some of the biggest names in the South African music industry perform live at the Buyel’Ekhaya Pan African music festival.

People came from as far as Cape Town, Bizana, Port Elizabeth and even Lesotho to see artists such as Caiphus Semenya, Zahara, Thandiswa Mazwai, Zonke and Mi Casa.

“This is a signature event which attracts high-level people and middle income earners to the city, where they spend on accommodation, creating revenue for the city.”

A few celebrities were spotted at hotels near to the event, including musician Robbie Malinga and former Generations actor Vuyo Dabula known who played Kumkani “Gadaffi” Phakade.
