The ANC in Eastern Cape wants it's national officials to heed the call by South Africans to remove President Jacob Zuma.

Addressing a press conference in Calata House after a two day provincial executive committee meeting, provincial Secretary Lalama Ngcukayitobi said stakeholders including Church and non governmental organisations have been calling for removal of President Jacob Zuma as state president. "The national officials must fast track this process," said Ngcukayitobi.

"There have been calls by South Africans for the necessity to change the state President. And this comes from a variety of structures. The ANC officials must consider these views from these sectors and respond accordingly," added Ngcukayitobi
