We won't allow one person's actions to overshadow this‚ says AKA on his GQ cover

As the October issue of GQ South Africa hit shelves on Monday‚ AKA — who’s on the cover — has revealed that he won’t let anyone ruin this moment for him‚ following a much talked about altercation between DJ Black Coffee and his road manager this past weekend.

A short video‚ captured exclusively by Zkhiphani‚ which went viral in the early hours of Sunday morning shows DJ Black Coffee slapping AKA’s road manager Tshiamo Letshwene during DSTV’s I Rock Music Festival in Polokwane.

Since then‚ AKA’s camp has come out guns blazing in their pursuit of Black Coffee‚ labelling his actions as ” ignorant‚ distasteful and not of someone level headed or mature‚” in a statement.

However‚ taking to Twitter on Sunday evening‚ AKA explained that he won’t allow this incident to steal the spotlight from his GQ cover‚ claiming that he has been working towards this goal for a long time.

In the series of tweets‚ the rapper explained that he will be putting the dramatic incident behind him‚ saying: “There comes a time when you have to deal with things with maturity. The only person who can mess this up for me is me.”

He further called for “positive vibes‚” before labelling the incident “a test“.
