ABOUT 60 people toyi-toyied outside the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court yesterday ahead of the appearance of a man accused of vandalising a painting of President Jacob Zuma.

The group was demanding the release of Louis Mabokela, who is accused of malicious damage to property, for defacing The Spear painting at the Goodman Gallery last year.

“Louis yo hana molato. Molokolleng ,” the group shouted outside court.

Most of them were wearing yellow ANC T- shirts.

According to a spokesman for Mabokela’s family, about 200 supporters travelled to Johannesburg in 15 kombis from the Mohlabeng village in Limpopo.

They had slept in their cars overnight to be in time for the court case.
