Local theatregoers were deeply engaged and enthralled by the opening night performances of two acclaimed and award-winning productions, Woza Albert! and The Line, performed at the Steve Biko Centre in Ginsberg on Thursday night.
“We’ve had a really great response. People have reacted very well. People were listening and that is the most important thing. And hopefully this will start a conversation, get people thinking and talking about these issues” said Harris.
Those who could not make it to the Grahamstown National Arts Festival had a chance to witness a theatrical explosion of hard-hitting, thought-provoking and entertaining work.
The Steve Biko Art centre’s collaboration with the Market Theatre has not been a hit-and-run project.
