Police looking for dangerous EC fugitive

POLICE have issued an alert for one of the Eastern Cape’s most wanted suspects who allegedly committed serious crimes in East London, Butterworth and Mthatha.

Zimasa “Camel” Diniso is being sought by East London and Mthatha’s Organised Crime Units.

He is wanted for alleged crimes ranging from murder, theft, possession of illegal firearms and ammunition, to hijacking, among others.

Believed to be from the Elliotdale area, Diniso has been arrested a number of times. He was granted bail recently but allegedly did not turn up for his court appearance.

Eastern Cape police spokeswoman, Brigadier Marinda Mills, said a warrant of arrest for the 30-year-old was issued in Elliotdale Magistrate’s Court in June this year.

“The East London and Mthatha Organised Crime Units are appealing to members of the public to assist them with information that will lead to his arrest,” she said.

Diniso is thought to be living in or around Mthatha or Mqanduli.

Police officers within the Organised Crime units, who spoke to the Dispatch on condition of anonymity, said Diniso was notorious and one of the police’s most wanted criminal suspects.

Diniso is also suspected of murdering a security guard in the Mqanduli area.

“The police are doing all they can to arrest him,” the officer said.

Mills warned that Diniso should be considered armed and dangerous and appealed to the public who knew of his whereabouts to contact police.

“People should not approach him but report him to police,” she said.

Warrant Officer Qakala of the East London Organised Crime unit can be contacted on 079-508-9596 and W/O Mdepha of the Mthatha Organised Crime unit on 082-319-8754, or call crimestop number: 08600-10111. — bonganif@dispatch.co.za
