Four of six vacant EC head admin posts filled

ONLY two Eastern Cape government departments still have to recruit and appoint permanent administration heads.

Gqobana yesterday refused to comment on the recruitment process, referring queries to Kiviet’s office. The Bhisho Legislature’s portfolio committee on agriculture in November attributed failures at provincial rural development and agrarian reform to tensions between MEC Zoleka Capa and superintendent-general Glen Thomas. Thomas later confirmed this to Daily Dispatch.

Kiviet’s spokesman Mxolisi Spondo said the process of appointing HODs for the two remaining departments was ongoing and provincial government would “communicate updates on the process” . —
