Strangers obey ‘message’ from God and get married

Pastors disagree with apostle.

TWO strangers tied the knot after an apostle from their church told them it was God’s will that they get married.

Despite not knowing each another, Sindile Mathonsi and Siziwe Thyobeka exchanged their vows a month ago after Apostle Gloria Bobelo informed them last year that God had instructed them to do so.

But yesterday the housewife told the Dispatch she was happy. “I loved him even before we got married because I knew this is the man God had chosen for me,” she said.

Local pastors however disagreed with the way the apostle had managed the matter.

Rhema Umtata Christian Church Pastor Don Phillips said that as much as he believed all things were possible with God, the apostle should have given the two more time.

“We need to verify things with God before we can act on them.” Phillips said he feared that if things did not go according to plan between the couple, they would blame the apostle.

“I am not disputing that the apostle received word from God but the way of doing it doesn’t have wisdom in it. She should have told them alone what God had laid into her heart and given them time to communicate with God and confirm,” he said.

Flames of Fire Ministries Bishop Khosi Ngcoza said a man should choose his own wife and they should agree to the wedding.

“You must marry someone you love and who loves you back. You commit to someone you love and that is an eternal thing. I don’t agree with the way this apostle handled this; it is anti-Christ and people need to be careful of such.” — poliswap@dispatch.co.za
