Woman’s body dumped near hospital

“I AM dead now”.

This was the last text message sent from the cellphone of a young woman whose body was found dumped close to Cecilia Makiwane Hospital.

It is believed Xoliswa Bolosha, 31, was raped and then repeatedly stabbed. Her bloodied body was found in a bushy area by churchgoers on Sunday afternoon.

Bolosha’s live-in boyfriend, David Madletyana, said he received a mysterious text message at 12.31am on Sunday which read: “Ndifile ngoku .”

He only saw the message hours later and immediately called Bolosha, who went out with friends on Saturday night. By then, her phone was off.

Speaking to the Daily Dispatch yesterday on behalf of the family, Madletyana from NU9 said the mystery text had left him traumatised. He believed Bolosha knew her killer.

“I was away in Kwelerha and I had last spoken to her in the afternoon .”

Madletyana was not the only one who received contact from Bolosha’s cellphone. Her mother Nokwakha and close friends received phone calls after midnight. None of them had been available to answer.

Madletyana left Kwelerha for Mdantsane on Sunday and before he reached his house, met his brother who told him that Bolosha’s body had been found.

“By the time I got to the scene there were police vans and residents shocked by the incident.”

There were bloody rocks around the body and she had severe head injuries.

“She was lying in a pool of blood and all I could see were the head injuries,” said Madletyana.

Police spokesman Captain Mluleki Mbi confirmed the incident and said Bolosha had suffered a number of stab wounds to her body.

No arrests have been made and police have urged anyone with information to come forward.

“We are busy checking and sending samples away and there have been no leads at this stage,” Mbi said.

Residents from NU9 have since raised their concerns about crime in the area.

Bolosha will be buried at her NU6 home next week Saturday. — mamelag@dispatch.co.za
