Stuttgart Orchestra is in town

THE University of Fort Hare’s music department will get the chance to learn and share their skills when a 75-piece University of Stuttgart Orchestra plays at their combined concert tonight at 7pm. The Whale Show

Book launch

EASTERN Cape-born Robin Binckes launches his new book Tucker’s Deadline at Exclusive Books, Vincent Mall at 6.30pm tonight. This is his third book, his first two being, Canvas Under the Sky (fiction) and The Great Trek Uncut (non-fiction).

Fly, Eagle Fly

CHRISTIAN Dance Academy presents a dance and musical production based on the well-loved book Fly, Eagle Fly! by South African author Christopher Gregorowski and choreographed by Kati Ansell at the Guild Theatre from today till Saturday. Tickets range from R75 to R100 and are available from the Guild Theatre or Computicket.

Gardens galore

MANY of East London’s most beautiful gardens will be on show this weekend to raise funds for charity. Each year Pam Golding Properties (PGP) hosts this fundraiser where R50 gets you a ticket into all 18 gardens on show, from ornamental to indigenous. Tickets are available from the PGP offices today and tomorrow and from any of the gardens on show on Saturday and Sunday. Look out for the ‘Gardens on Show’ pointer boards throughout the city.

Rise Festival

Clivia season

THE Border Clivia Interest Group will host its annual Clivia Show at Pioneer Nursery situated on the main road in Gonubie this weekend. There will be a mass display of clivias as well as a display of plants entered into the show and judged by qualified judges from the Eastern Province Clivia Club, based in Port Elizabeth.
