Despite delays with starting times, the Mnquma Jazz Festival was a huge success for the music lovers who waited to see their favourite stars perform at the show at Gcuwa Dam.
The show featured some of South Africa’s top musicians like Thandiswa Mazwai of Zabalaza fame, Durban-based music mogul Zakhele Madida – popularly known as Zakes Bantwini – and Berita.
Award-winning singer Thandiswa Mazwai had the crowd eating out of her hands as she dished out songs like Zabalaza.
Mnquma municipality’s Sindile Pantsi said the delays were largely due to power failures and bad weather.
“These conditions were beyond our control and we extend our humblest apologies to the patrons, while thanking those who endured through all those issues,” he said.
