Mandela school impasse resolved

Order has been restored at the Mandela School of Science and Technology in Mvezo after Pat Toni was permanently appointed as principal.

However, Mandela’s spokesman Freddie Pilusa denied the reports.

“That version is exaggerated. He explained to the parents that there was no meeting for parents but officials from the DoE and the SGB,” said Pilusa.

“There was no need to chase anyone away because they understood that there was no meeting. The people who are looking for a story out of this are just being mischievous.”

Meanwhile, Toni said he was relieved the matter had finally been resolved.

“Sometimes I would be depressed because of the uncertainty of my future at the school but when I read the articles in your paper I could feel that something will be done about it. There is light at the end of the tunnel,” said Toni.

The chairman of the school governing body, Njiyela Lumkwana, said the SGB would host a braai to celebrate Toni’s appointment.
