EL’s dose of weekend fun

HERE’s this week’s dose of fun things happening around town.

Early Christmas concert

THE Motsepe Foundation will be bringing its Christmas with our people music concert to East London this Saturday. The line-up for the event consists of big names such as Black Coffee, DJ Sbu, Zahara, KO, Arthur, Mandoza, DJ Tira, Oskido and more. The event will be hosted at the Esplanade and starts in the morning.

Nicholis Louw live

NG KERK Wesheuwels will host Nicholis Louw this Saturday. Tickets for the event cost R80 and are available at the church offices, Target Line and Grens Prep School. For more details, contact 082-926-5381.

Art Lecture

THE modernists and the Bauhaus style are the focus of Barry Gibb’s art lecture at the Ann Bryant Art Gallery next Tuesday, November 25. R40 gets you into the lecture which starts at 7pm. Wine and fruit juice will be available for a small donation.

Sunday Pholas

CATCH Sunday Pholas this weekend at Imbizo Lounge from 2pm. The event features acts like Nombasa, Mque, Lwandile, DJ Lhalha, Masta Sam, Zubo and more. Entry is R20.

Jazz icons

DUE to the power failure in East London last Friday, the Guild Theatre had to cancel the performance of The Journey of a Song by the Slo Foot Brothers. But the good news is they will return to the theatre on Friday, November 28 at 7pm. All patrons who bought tickets for last week’s show will be able to use them on this night. If you don’t have a ticket, there are still some available and cost R100 from Computicket or the Guild Theatre.

Freight Train

THE Comrades Bowling Club will be hosting Freight Train this Friday at 7pm. Entry fee is R30, rice and curry on sale and the bar would be open at club prices.

Singles fun

IF YOU are single and looking for some fun, make sure you visit the East London Bowling Club tonight. Ron’s Band will be playing. Entry is R20. For more details contact 073-243-2318.

Dance the night away
