Premier’s top man in bail bid

Director general in premier Phumulo Masualle’s office, Dr Loyiso Mbabane, appeared in the East London Magistrate’s Court today to apply for bail.

In an affidavit submitted to court, Mbabane said if he was denied bail, the provincial government would be “paralysed”.

“...Certain documents which require my signature cannot be signed, therefore delaying service delivery,” he argued.

Mbabane promised he would not interfere with any wit nesses.

He added that he was willing to surrender his passport to the investigating officer should that be stated as a condition for his bail.

The case continues.
