New home, new era for Daily Dispatch

Ground work on the new Daily Dispatch premises is currently underway, with construction expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Daily Dispatch regional circulation manager Ryan Megaw said: “The new home of the Daily Dispatch is custom designed to suit our needs, and is located in what has quickly become the business and development hub of Buffalo City.”

The new offices will be in Quenera Drive as part of the Triple Point development in Beacon Bay.

“While our historic offices in Caxton Street have served us well for more than a century, we believe our new office positions the Daily Dispatch for the future and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to being at the heart of the city and region that we serve.”

Megaw said the new building was designed to encourage dynamic interaction between all departments of business.

“We will be located close to the N2 and have plenty of parking available, which will make us easily accessible to our readers and advertisers.”

Developer Grant Wheatley said the new building would be on two levels with a modern and striking look.

“We spent a lot of time, visiting the Daily Dispatch and understanding how it functions, which has made it easier to plan the interior.

“This is a very interesting project which we are excited to be a part of,” said Wheatley.

Eastern Cape Tiso Blackstar general manager Yasteel Kuseeal said the Caxton Street building was synonymous with the Daily Dispatch but technology had changed the media.

“Our community demands a product that keeps pace with the changes. As such the call for a more cutting edge, fresh newspaper is resounding. We are moving to a building which signals a new era for the Daily Dispatch and one that will provide that need,” he said. — ziphon@dispatch.co.za
