Mthatha police searching for murder suspects

The South African Police in Mthatha are searching for the suspect(s) involved in the murder of the Jacqui Miller, 19 and Carl George, 20.

Their bodies were recovered by SAPS K9 Search and Rescue on Sunday, 10 May 2015 at about 18:30 at the Mthatha Dam, outside Mthatha after they were spotted by the community member who immediately alerted the police.

It is alleged that the two were last seen on Saturday, 9 May 2015. The vehicle belonging to one of the victims was found at Kwa-Link, a nearby village but none of them reside at that village.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation and at this stage police cannot speculate on the motive of the murder. No arrests have been made as yet.

The preliminary investigation indicated that the victims had bruises in the upper body but no visible gunshot wound.

The post mortem will indicate the cause of death and further assist investigators with their investigation. The post mortem will either be held today or tomorrow.
