There will be a 'planned supply disconnection' to four Eastern Cape municipalities.
This evening should see should Eskom implementing load-shedding as the available power supply won’t meet predicted demand.

The utility’s @Eskom–MediaDesk this morning tweeted: “Power system expected to be constrained but stable for most of the day‚ but could come under during the evening peak as the demand increases”‚ while its @Eskom–SA account posted: “The load shedding prognosis for today is medium for the day and high for the evening.”

These were identical to announcements made early on Monday‚ but Eskom later had to warn that “Stage 1 #load–shedding is implemented from 16h03 to 22h00 today. We apologise for the inconvenience”.

This was escalated to stage 2 outages two hours later.

Eskom has predicted a supply shortfall for Tuesday night‚ saying “the capacity available to meet that evening’s peak demand is 31150MW‚ while demand is forecast at 32521 MW”‚ according to a System Status Bulletin.
