The 6th stop on the Samsung Galaxy World Championship Tour has been called off today due to the lack of swell that was originally forecast.
There is plenty of swell out at sea, but due to Jeffrey Bay's unique geographical location, the swell is not materializing.
Double shark attack survivor and Ex-East Londoner , Shannon Ainslie who has lived in Jeffery's Bay for the past several years shares some local knowledge on the current condition, "The best swell direction for Jbay is a SW or SSW and at the moment all the swell is going straight past the bay because it has to much west in it.
The degree or angle of the swell needs to be from around 228 degrees to start coming in and this swell i above 230 degrees, so hopefully it will start angling in."
