“System outages” led to Standard Bank customers experiencing “slow responses on some of its banking platforms” on Monday.

The bank said in a statement that “Internet Banking and our App banking platform is currently not available”‚ and also affected was the “ability to do transactions at Standard Bank branches”.

ATMs and point of sale devices were‚ the bank said‚ not affected by the outages.

“Standard Bank would like to apologise for the inconvenience that this has caused‚ and would like to assure our customers that everything is being done to restore services as quickly as possible‚” the bank said.
