Woolworths retained its position as South Africa’s most reputable company in the annual Reputation Institute’s National RepTrak Pulse survey for 2015.
RepTrak‚ which ranks the largest listed companies by revenue and familiarity‚ tracks companies which are engaged in commercial activities‚ have a reasonable amount of familiarity with the general public‚ and are not wholly-owned subsidiaries of other companies.

Woolworths has been under pressure from activist group Boycott‚ Divestment and Sanctions Against Israel in South Africa (BDS)‚ which has protested against the company because of its continued trade with Israel‚ which BDS believes is unlawfully occupying Palestine.
On Monday hundreds of people demonstrated outside a Cape Town venue where Williams was due to perform‚ in protest against the artist’s promotional deal with the retailer.
