The South Gauteng High Court has upheld former Pan Africanist Congress (PAC) leader Letlapa Mphahlele’s expulsion from the party‚ the party says.

The PAC said it had been vindicated and emerged victorious in a leadership battle that had been prevailing from 2013 when Mphahlele was suspended and his expulsion subsequently endorsed at the party’s annual national conference in Birchwood in 2013.

“PAC have been taken to court over this issue for almost four years resulting in IEC funding suspension‚ confusion in the party.

“The judgment was delivered today (Monday) by Judge Lamont in South Gauteng High Court‚” the PAC said in a statement.

“Mr Letlapa Mphahlele remains expelled and the status quo remain as such. There are no two PAC (parties) but one led by President Luthando Mbinda who is also serving as the party’s sole member of the parliament‚” the party added.
